LUK is renowned as a supplier of clutch and transmission solutions to almost all automobile manufacturers in the world. In 1965, LUK was the first company in Europe to bring a diaphragm spring clutch onto the market and in 1985 launched the first dual mass flywheel. Practically every third new car in Europe and every fourth car that comes off a production fine anywhere in the world is fitted with a LUK clutch. Since 2000 the company belongs to the Schaeffler Group, Germany, one of the largest family-owned companies in Europe.
